Don't put it off, make sure you get that key done as a priority, I am sure you have thought it through, but I knew a guy that had to scrap his car after he lost his one and only key, eventually after a ruined holiday and getting his car recovered back home he ordered another from Germany at great expense only to find that in the past, the ECU and locks and barrel had been changed so it didn't work and he didnt even have the pattern to cut a key let alone get the chip made and of course he couldnt drive the car to somebody with the T4 software, he lost interest at that point and scrapped the car, I have 3 !!

Big Russ is probably your nearest bet.
However if you decide not to go see Russ yet, I strongly suggest that you get a key cut to fit (most local lock Smiths will be able to help you) as we don't need to 'disarm' the immobiliser to create a new key. (but you would need to post car parts to us or we would need to visit)

Will I be able to take one of these keys, once cut, for Russ to code?

Yes, Russ can code the PCB and immobiliser chip for you.

I don't see why not.....................

However I would have thought that Russ would be supplying the key as part of the deal in any event, so there isn't any real need to pay £15 for another key beforehand.........unless I'm missing something???

When I had a spare key made, the chap who did it for me (TS Autos) supplied everything, and I can't see Russ being any different

No, the key will come from Russ ready programmed, you will then have to get the blade cut locally.
