Default V6 trip computer range?

Hi all,

On my way to work tonight ( short trip down the motorway) a 7.5 mile journey.

The trip computer in the 75 showed the range in the fuel tank to be over 1000 miles with the needle on the first smaller black line on the fuel guage. Done approx 80 something miles.

My mog has risen too from 24 mpg to 26.

Anyone had this before, I had to double check the range! It did make me chuckle

Mine's done that on the odd occasion, thought it was odd showing a range of over 1000 miles. I guess it just got it's sums wrong.

I assume that it calculates the range based on previous fuel consumptions?
