Arctic
Managed to sort the problem thanks to your help. I was becoming a bit frustrated with it after going over all the system again. This time I removed the diaphragm in the T piece and I also made sure the pump paddle was rotating and firmly engaging. Think my problem was twofold. The diaphragm wasn't allowing a good flow and the pump paddle wasn't engaged properly. A good jet of water on the 2nd pull of the switch. 1st pull nothing! |

Thanks to Arctic for the photos, great.
Revived this post in order not to have loads of posts on same topic. I've removed the pump, it doesn't work when connect directly to a 12v battery, tried changing polarities but that shouldn't be a problem. Made for an awkward drive to Scotland following rain and spray from the road. I guess is should work even when off the car? I guess that the only recourse is a replacement pump? I will do the other jobs in case while I'm on with the job. I now realise I need to replace that splashguard (!) disc behind the front disc caliper mount. Will have to check the others! JohnnyBG |

Update, although there's not much interest. Artic's guidance a big help. New pump in, blew through the pipes after disconnecting from the diaphragm holder three-way connector. Reconnected the connector to the tube from the pump and put it in a plastic 5 litre bottle - no fluid when operating the pump. Dismantled the diaphragm part and there was a little bit of organic matter in there. Cleaned, re-assembled and all good. Tremendous difference in flow compared with previously. The blockage may've been the cause of the pump failing.
