Guess What
I got a blinding headache on Tuesday that I thought was a migraine, I had a fuzzy head on Wednesday and Thursday and today I felt cold. This afternoon I tested positive for the virus, I'm peeved because I've been nowhere for weeks, I've been decorating and using a lot of gloss paint, I put the fuzzy head and throat irritation down to the fumes. It looks like it's been brought to me by a third party who caught it in her office that's meant to be sterile.
I'm OK as yet but let's see how it plays out, if I'm a few days in as I believe I am I should be either entering a worse phase or riding it out as a small irritant. It's really weird that I've been using gloss paint and not feeling short of breath with the virus in me, I wonder if the VOC of the paint has been killing it off in my lungs? A bit like sanitiser on the skin, I'm willing to bet it does kill it as it's a strong vapour. Who knows but I'll paint again tomorrow! Best wishes to all. |

Ah high in VOC's, one cannot beat benzene and methylene chloride with a dash of toluene as an apéritif
Hopefully you've experienced the full gamut of symptoms already Mike, when I had the lurgy earlier in the year, it was banging head, raging sore throat and a nose running like a tap, for a whole three days, Chris lost her sense of taste and smell, neither of us had a cough or temperature. Take it easy and get well soon. Brian |

I felt rough last april --head full of cotton wool --slight headache -- throat discomfort , for about two days -no tests available then like now . A couple of paracetamol eased it --No oil based paint in sight !

Yes.
I could smell everything as normal, I was at my doctors at 9.50 am for a face to face appt, my recorded temp at the door was 36.6, one hour later it was 38.4 and a half hour after that it was 39. It came on me very fast, I'm 55 years old and I suddenly felt very cold and that's not my normal, I don't own a coat because I'm always warm, it's how I knew I was unwell.
