Default Don't take your driving test in Germany.

My g-daughter is taking her driving test in Berlin. The written test is taken from some 1200 questions, 15 of which concern driving and overtaking a trailer. More alarming is if you fail the practical 3x then you have to visit a psychiatrist to see whether you're fit to continue. Doesn't that confirm all you ever thought about the Germans?

From the online theory tests I have seen, anyone that fails the UK theory test should be banned from the road until they can pass it 100 %. It is worrying that learners fail it.

What % does GD need to get right to pass?

Maybe I'm out of touch but I think the idea of a written test that really tests knowledge and understanding (and all the answers can't be learnt in a few hours) is a great way forward.

Not too sure about the psychiatrist bit though.

Watching the idiots sliding about on the road outside my front window here I can agree, Absolutely clueless about the slippery conditions, I wish it was warm enough to sit out with a beer so I could watch em

I used a motorbike to/from work all year round for years, sun, rain, snow and bitter cold. I well recall the screaming agony as the feeling returned to my fingers!
