I've fitted a full chrome grille today. Was on the lookout for one and then I found one in my garage laying around.... probably for the last 4 years or something

Yeah send some emails to Rover specialists to give a heads-up if they came about a chrome grille. Yesterday got a email that someone got one but that they wanted my grille in exchange for it. So figured well I think I have one or two laying around somewhere so let see if those are good enough to send back to them... Got them and found the one to be chrome

When I looked for a new one there was nothing available that matched the profile of the old rubber. (Not that the original seal was any good at sealing - even when it was new it didn't make proper contact with the windscreen.) Last edited by Blink; 18th January 2021 at 12:42.. |

New bonnet and boot struts
Fitted a pair of new struts to both bonnet and boot on my saloon today. Like many have said a massive improvement opening, staying open and closing now.
A shout out to SGS as well. Ordered online midday, an email received from Abigale at SGS an hour later just to check I had ordered the right ones by asking for the part numbers on my car, and both new pairs delivered the next day. Excellent service. A fifteen minute job to remove old and fit new ones. Isn't it great when all goes to plan! Take care all John

Yes I got mine from them. I also have one of their car jacks also. Very well made and at a good price.

Finally got around to improving drivers door trim, it was almost all unstuck apart from edges, tried just resticking but the foam had gone funny (felt "sweaty" for want of a better description) tried just resticking but foam was as none stick as Teflon
Had to strip trim apart, had to drill out plastic rivets, then screw it back together Not great as I had to cut material but big improvement, replaced foam with some foam backed material I retrimmed my ZS headliner with Finished result, I’ve since fitted the new seat cover better Last edited by GaryGee; 19th January 2021 at 13:51.. |
