Reversing Light Switch
Finally replaced faulty switch located behind front near side wheel on my petrol Tourer. What with various objects in the way of long reach socket / arm it proved bit of a challenge but now fault corrected and reverse lights now working. Much appreciate the clubs 'How to' on this matter - just one of the many benefits from our splendid club / members.
Very pleased. Now to tackle the blue smoke problem on one of my diesels - have already had a valuable chat with a club member on this -thanks Chris. |

Saturday saw Trikey with his T4 identify the new bosch maf that had been fitted as faulty so thats being dealt with.
And today at the Frimley meet he enabled a couple of things on Karens zt, to his and our surprise the car had not received a pdi when it was sold, so the poor thing soon had that put right. |

Yesterday took my 75 to a Mental Health Awareness Car Meet in Edinburgh, felt a bit out of place among the Fiesta's Abarth's and the like but it did get people stopping to have a look at it

Hi Dave. Welcome to the best club around for Rover and MG ZT cars.
Looks like I need to pay my subscriptions. I have gone blue. Will have to get it done.

A certain national windscreen replacement company came to fit my new windscreen today after failing to repair the chip last week. The fitter unfortunately chopped the rain sensor and auto-dim mirror loom whilst running the separator wire round the screen prior to removing it. Luckily for both of us I was on hand to repair it properly which was straightforward with the screen out. We tested it with a "dry" screen in place and it was fine.
However not content with that - and now being flustered and apologetic - he then lifted the dry screen out prior to running the sealant and refitting but forgot to remove the mirror & rain sensor which he fitted temporarily to test the rewiring. This resulted in the module being heavily tugged and torn off the screen. Once the new screen was fitted with the sealant and everything reconnected, needless to say, the rain module now doesn't work. He put his hands up completely, gave a confession on his post-work video, and called his boss as well as the warranty/rectification team to log the fact. He's assured me they'll pay for everything and from what I've seen, I'm reasonably content they will. It's not so much the mistakes but how they're handled that counts in my book.So we'll see. Nothing's ever simple, eh. Dougie.
