Default Radio code

I've been given no code for the radio and the dealer didn't have it. Is there any way of finding it out or will I now just have a dead radio if the battery needs disconnecting?

My radio it's a CD413X with serial VDCD3042012236

I'm in the same position. I understand some radios never had a code set, so not a problem. How would one find out if the code was set? I don't want to press the buttons and it asks for a code I haven't got! I have always connected a 12v supply to the car when changing battery etc, not been a problem for the last 13 years. The radio is an Alpine Symphony and works just fine.
Can TOAF provide any useful information about the radio, eg Is a code set?
