Sounds like you've got some lazy / dying / dead actuators there. I did hear once about some lazy ones coming back to life after the battery was disconnected for a few minutes but for a permanent fix you'll probably need to replace them. On the bright side second hand ones aren't expensive and I think there's a "How To …" on here somewhere. Having done a front one I can tell you that it can be achieved without removing the glass. Don't know about the rear ones.

The front one is more of a challenge, offside is anyway. I did mine by removing the door card, putting the window all the way up, removing all the bolts on the right hand side of the door that hold on the window regulator then sliding the door latch down the door and underneath the regulator. Tricky part is getting the lock barrel actuator rod back in, I did mine by putting the key in the lock then rotating the key while I offered up the new actuator. Might take a few attempts but try it before you refit the door card and all should be well! |
