Texting to a fbh ,now fed up!!
Trying to set up texting to the fbh and getting nowhere.
Power on lights up- Green , Yellow lights up and flashes regularly, No light on small pcb that holds the SIM card and a new SIM has been fitted. Fbh works if earthed . Lead from fbh to pcb marked no and earthed via common If lead is connected to nc then fbh starts up. Both flick switches off , tried to ring , then text with switches in various positions and following a "how to". SIM in correct way as per sign on the small sum pcb. Help please Dave |

I don't know the system you are using for the trigger but I have had a very good experience with this unit. Inexpensive and works faultlessly, been in over three years now. If you use an app like send it later you can schedule on times great for early winter get ups. Also I have wired the atc unit up to the heater output via a thermoswitch it is worth doing, means the blowers will not come on until the coolant is hot

I assume you set up the number of the mobile you are calling from in the sim in the receiver before trying? (Calling number should be in the first 10 numbers in the SIM phonebook )

yes as far as i know, connects for only 1 second.
Then texted the number with R1on but nothing fires up! Its missing the small light on the SIM pcb doesn't light at all, which i assume means no connectivity. Dave. |

You may have to try a different sim from a different provider, Out of interest what is the one that you are trying?

I can't see any problem normally with that (it's what I use for my conttract phone). May still be worth trying a PAYG - GiffGaff is often said to work well with non-phone devices. Other option of course is that the unit is faulty. I Guess you've already tried re-inserting the SIM card / jiggling it around to make sure it's in and connected in the socket properly.

You don’t say which timer module you’re using or how it’s installed.
I’m using an Asda pay as you go SIM which works fine and not yet actually put any credit on it. Have you checked the sim works by putting in a phone first? Depending on the module you’re using the text message may be different. For mine it’s RT to start and RS to stop. Also before it will work you normally have to register the number you are texting from into the SIM on the timer module using the instructions for your module. Have you read through the how to on this site? |

To test unit before installing securely , power from battery with a fuse inserted, wire from pin 3 to GSM box onto NC connection for relay 1 and common to earth
Phoned GSM to register number then texted R1ON to switch relay on - nothing happens -according to 'how to ' this should work? Will start again tomorrow . Dave |
