Auto Gearbox Question
Now this doesn't happen every time.
Most of the time when normal driving the gear changes up at about 2000 rpm Every now and again it won't change up till about 2750 to 3000 rpm. Is this something to be concerned about or would this be classed as normal?

Another question if I may.
Is there a recommended person who can change the oil on me auto gearbox? I'm talking about full oil change ie drain oil refill run gearbox then change oil again. They need to be near Studley, Warwickshire. Last time I did it I used Terry from TS Auto's but I can't find him now.

was just about to say this, it would be the most common time I notice it behaving slightly differently to normal.
Also if in sport mode it will do it too (but I imagine you would have been aware of this). Driving hard for an extended period of time, as the box is self learning, it can hang onto the revs for a little longer than would be 'normal'. It will return to lower revs if it is driving gently for a period of time. This is particularly noticeable after disconnecting the battery (or of course the autobox fuse) - ditto if the battery has been low or failed too.

a. the correct fluid. b. the correct drain plug (there is a bolt near to it, apparently is confused by some, which leads to one of the bands being disconnected, and requires a rebuild after - it is not as scary as it seems though). There is a very good how to which guides you through it. You could also look out for a Landrover specialist near to you too (same as used on the Freelander)

so when i leave my rd i have to turn directly onto an uphill...which i do not like to rev to 3000 on a cold engine so i have taken to switching to 'snow' which works an absolute treat...when i get to the top i just switch to D again. |

If it just does this when it's cold, it is by design.
