HI Mark.
Colour looks good I presume you did both sides I found that the tail gate seemed to open & close better after the preventive mod, could be placebo effect though

Very true.. and there are many, many spot welds

While the front bumper was off I decided to fit the twin horns and loom, only difference was the twin loom didnt have the sensor for the fbh, duly removed and fitted to the new loom then checked it all worked before reassembly took place.

Nice to have a horn now rather than a little parp....

Today, Rouge and I spent a couple of hours sitting by the side of the road in the rain drinking take away coffee from a petrol station.

We were having 4 wheel alignment done at a garage The drive home was a lot nicer than the drive to the garage.

I will remember to ignore your directions next time and go the opposite way but the drive home was certainly improved

Took at doing some of the “usual” on the new car. Hmm...can’t keep calling it new car....so SLZ it is.
- bumper off...had to resort to the dremel as several of the small Philips head screws refused to budge.😞
- dremel to the rescue again, to cut off the 3 screws that hold on the air intake concertina.😞
- fitted new gold resistor, courtesy of Jules. Tested fan operation on demist, and all good.
- fitted new plenum guard, again supplied by Jules
- took the lights out
- fitted new intercooler o-rings
- changed the egr valve to a spare clean one.
- put some self amalgamating tape round the wires where they’re prone to rubbing on the chassis.
- took out the windscreen wiper pump and cleaned the gunk out of the filter
- flushed out the windscreen washer tank with the garden hose.
- installed a set of lights that had already been cleaned up.
- hooked up the plug on the bumper to test lights...all good.

Bumper can go back on tomorrow.😅

Today I’ve unblocked the plenum drains on my ZT-T. Lots of water was trapped in there, thankfully I’ve cleared it before the ECU got wet.

I think the Jules mod cover is on the cards.

Also re gapped my spark plugs down to 0.75mm, the stutter it has under full throttle has improved, but it’s still there slightly. TBH the plugs look like they would benefit from being replaced so I’ll order some and try them at 0.6mm.

Checked the boost solenoid connections they seem fine. I do have a new one order anyway as they aren’t expensive.

Don't worry about getting the ecu wet, the petrol ones are sealed, its only the diesels that suffer if they take a bath.
