I’ve got one but no idea what type it is. Came out of my 52 plate 75 with a Symphony unit. Never played a CD as I replaced it very soon with a Kenwood double din unit with Bluetooth etc so never needed it.

I'm just researching what's involved in fitting the CD changer, and will shortly put up what I believe you need, in the hope that somebody can confirm / correct it.

However, the changer can certainly be fitted to Harmony, Symphoney and Hi or Lo line.

It does require an interface, of which there are 3 types. One for H, one for S & one for Hi Line. Not sure if Lo Line is the same as Hi Line, or a 4th type.

Difference is likely to be only the connector on the cable back to the radio.

As you already have a Symphoney, you won't need the supplementary loom that goes with it, UNLESS there are two supplementries, one with CD changer, and one without.

Regards

Mike

I’ve since had a complete clear out with 4 club members turning up to take everything away.

With reference to my post Number 4, could you tell me the part number of the loom that you have please.

It's equivalent for the Harmony to Alpine CD is VUL 100310. which was the factory fit cable.

I believe that your loom should have:-

1, BMW/MGR connector from the car.

ISO Connectors
2, Brown 8 way connector
3, Grey 8 way connector
4, Blue part of the multi coloured connector (or all 3 parts)

MGR specific
5, A Black 10 way connector, with 8 wires, 2 not installed.

This last plug should go into the Alpine Interface, R75S-ALP

The interface then goes into the CD Changer, with an 8 pin round DIN plug.

Alternatively, you may have VUL 100330, which was a dealer fit catch all cable, and will have a few other connectors, in addition to the 5 mentioned above.

Many Thanks.

Mike

OK, thanks.

From what I've learnt so far, with a plug already in the glove box, you should be able to plug in any changer that has come from an R75.

The variables happen behind the glove box.

Regards

Mike
