1.8 Coolant Loss
As above, l'm having to top up every couple of weeks. Very rarely l get the cylinder loss chugging on start-up vis-à-vis the inlet manifold gasket & now l'm getting occasional faint whiffs of coolant in the car. Under the bonnet the horizontal engine mount on the offside seems permanently wet & the surrounding area has dried muddy-looking water stains but l can't see any actual leaks.
Any advice for me.

Water pump gland? It's a common leak spot in the 1.8 engines.

The water pump was replaced 20,000 miles ago though l realise you can never completely trust new components, but it was from DMGRS & fitted by Andy (Shiner). And l can't see any sign of leaks other than the offside engine mount being wet.
It may not be the problem but l think l may start looking for an alloy manifold.
