what is the best solution to soak the c**p of the inside of the manifold.

Get an 'Oven pride' Oven cleaning bag, works a treat without much effort.

HI Gordon.
As above remove manifold along with the EGR & MAP sensor, once off the car remove the EGR clean that, or you can fit a bypass, remove the MAP sensor give that a wipe over with a cloth with carb cleaner sprayed onto the cloth clear the hoe but do not poke anything inside.

The manifold can now have most of the crud scrapped out of the openings then spray oven cleaner foam into the manifold through all ports leave to soak about an hour or two, then jet wash it out on high power, do this for at least 30 minutes double check and repeat if you have to.

I usually have at least four sets ready for the Nano meets.
