ive just replaced my thermostat on my diesel plus v belts and clutch where i have taken the engine out why some will say for me it makes more sense anyway would you still do the top hose mod........????

Nope, but I wouldn't take the engine out to change the thermostat, clutch and belts either.

Each to their own.
