Seat bolt
One of my seat bolts got damaged when I took it out. It was very stiff so I am reluctant to put if back in case it gets well and truly stuck. I have put in a request for one in the Items Wanted forum but I want to see what the alternatives are if I cannot get one.
I have an M10 nut that starts to go on the bolt but then sticks. I decided it was better not to force it. The seat bolt has a taper at the end so I suspect it is designed to become stiff as it goes in, or it is not an M10 thread. The thread on the bolt does not look like it has been cross threaded but it is difficult to tell if the thread in the floor socket is OK. My alternatives are to try to find an M10 bold of the right sort of length, by an M10 tap and try to clean up the thread in the floor, or hope I can get a replacement seat bolt. Do any other cars use the same seat bolts? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. |

If you mean the bolt that goes into the floor I'm going to a scarp yard tomorrow, I can get one, no idea how much they will want for it.
PM me if you would like one. I'll also check in my garage, I may have one you can have foc macafee2 |
