Thank you, Dallas. We will be sure to check the sills and jacking pads, too.

Cheers,
Glenn

Does your friend with the garage speak english? And is he familiar with the 75?

Pm me for an email address if he is in need of advice, but regrettably my Slovak is rather poor. Terrible in fact. I havent been able to open your link to the photo unfortunately.

Ahoj David,

My Slovak is not so good, either. It improves quickly as soon as I get there each time and I can get by. Yes, my friend is familiar with the MG/Rovers - more the MG ZS, but also the 75. He has a ZS that I borrowed when I was there last summer & fall. He has bought and sold a few. He does speak some English. Thank you for the offer of advice for him. Who knows, you and I might have a coffee or a meal next summer.

Sure thing, that would be fine. Just another thought is have you posted up in the items wanted here, to see if any members have a euro spec car for sale? I know that Slovakia has a lot of red tape for bringing cars in, re-registering them, re-testing them and so on but a lot of cars do find their way here from Germany, admittedly doubt many 75’s are heading this way, but there are people who find them in places like germany and then transport them here. I’ve always been quite shocked to see the exceptionally high prices on second hand cars here. While we can pick up a cheap car in the UK for £500 or less, in Slovakia that car would probably be on sale for £2500 or more due to all these other costs of beurocracy that get added on. When you are talking that money for an old car it is certainly worth having something to negotiate about.

Hi David,

No, I hadn't thought about posting a want ad here. Maybe I should have, but I just figured with most members being in the UK I'd be unlikely to find a Euro spec one for sale. I usually don't jump to conclusions. Bad me this time. Then again, I think I'd just as soon someone else had the red tape headache for me to buy one in SK. There have been some that made their way from France, Switzerland, Germany, etc for sure. I shake my head at the price differences. Crazy.

Cheers,
Glenn
