Ian, the Chinese MG arms are a better facsimile of the original MGR parts fitted when new.

They are not MGR parts, and they are not the Indian arms supplied by XPart.

If I were given the choice, I'd fit the Chinese variant, the latest batch of Indian XPart arms have a better surface finish than previously, but I would still be prepared to check welding prior to fitting.

Hello there, sorry to clarify -
They are the original arms used by MG in production of the MG7 etc, not the MG Rover arms used in production of our fine cars.

When we use the term original MG part, we refer exclusively to the MG7.
We're always keen to make the distinction between the two

We've fought hell and high water to get our hands on the last few Chinese arms out there - I'm sure it'll all be worth it when they're here.

I thought you were having them made Matt by the company that did them for MG? Or is this order all there will be?

I am glad to hear that the nearside arms are soon going to be here Matt. Don’t forget to save me the offside Chinese arm as agreed and despatch it with the other arm when they arrive. Cheers

That was the plan - then we actually found some original stock from the Chinese supplier so we were able to push this back in order to focus on other projects.
The original tooling couldn't be found to complete a large run in the timescales we wanted, however I understand this has now been located so we're good to go when we need to go ahead.

We have 15 pairs of original MG arms arriving with us in June, these will be used to 'fill in the gaps' of the last large run.

Could you drop me a PM with your order number or postcode?
I'm sure I've got yours here, but I'll just double check.

Am understanding correctly, you can have upper arms made using MG7, a Chinese Rover 75, tooling?

We can indeed, we're in touch with the OE supplier to SAIC MG - but we have some way to go with this, as the minimum order quantity is... insane.

How insane? perhaps a shared project with Leacy/Xpart

Thankfully it's not out of our reach - and we still have a few pairs of the Genuine MG old stock items left over from the last batch to satiate anyone desperate for a pair of those.

We're going to look at it in more detail once this order in June is out of the way - in our experience, involving other companies with the buying process makes things far more difficult for everyone thanks to bigger companies' love of red tape...
