What is XM in the chassis number series?
Where does XM come in the series of chassis numbers?
e.g. To SN-To XM111303 or From SN-From XM111304 - both of which are on this page under #14. I'm trying to find the correct part number for a 75 front brake hose. |

X = Model year code for 1999
M = Built at Cowley Other parts show the alternative VIN code 1D followed by the number: 1 = 2001 (there's a VIN decoder on the forum) D = Built at Longbridge Simon

Ok, thanks Simon. So the correct hose for mine must be SHB000840 because it's after 111304 and before 236541. The SHB000840 pic matches my old hoses, which have the rubber sleeve on the union end and plastic coated springs.
I've got a pair of Delphi LH0461 that I bought last year but they don't have either the rubber sleeve or the plastic coated springs. In fact they look like the pic Rimmers have used for SHB000851, which is supposed to be a rear hose but isn't. Wish I'd bought SHB000840 now. Last edited by Blink; 27th July 2020 at 10:46.. |

It's not too late to buy a SHB 000840. You won't be the first to have been in this situation. You could also mention their pictorial error at the same time!
