Default 2001 Rover 75 2.5 KV6 Conn repairing under engine cover

My under engine cover(sorry don't know the correct term) has worn through in places due to scuffing,What is the best material to repair it,fibreglass and resin comes to mind but has anyone tried carbon fibre?

Any advice gratefully received

Best Wishes Dan Gardner

Pretty sure you can still buy the original, however if you did want to use a composite you'd be better off using kevlar due to its abrasive properties. It's also cheaper and less likely to fail as it also has better elongation properties.

The cost of replicating a mould and the vote materials would far outweigh the cost of a new undertray, personally I don't have one on. Running naked here.

Edit: sorry I was tired, I just see you wanted to repair, just fibreglass filler onto a mesh would fill holes best.
