angry wasp
I have recently purchased an mg-zt 2.0 cdti, sometimes when I get to 70+ I get a noise like an angry wasp and the faster I go the louder it gets, has anyone else had the same problem and how did you solve it.

Welcome to the Club.
Haven't heard the description myself, but to assist further, where is the Noise originating coming from? Engine area, Dashboard, Doors? |

If you do a search you will probably find it's the seal around or at the top of the windscreen resonating especially in the dry and sounds like it's coming from the dash vents.
Try putting some tape over the seal and see if it disappears. Try this.... http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...hlight=buzzing Last edited by Volzhskyboy; 25th April 2009 at 16:58.. Reason: More info added |

I get this at some 'high' speeds. I've always thought the sound was coming from the stereo somewhere as a bad earth.

I´ve had this on several cars. The plastic plate that covers the BOTTOM of the windscreen loosens slightly and the airflow at certain speeds makes it sound like a real bad mouthorgan. The plastic plate is usually secured with plastic screws that with time loosen slightly causing the effect. Haven´t checked mine but the actual plastic plate looks like the plates on the other cars. It will be difficult to know just by looking at it. I put some very thing rubber bits (about 4, spaced out) between the plastic and the screen, and presto - no mouthorgan. The plastic was resonating against the screen.
