Default Amazing service from an amazing shop....

After finishing work to-day (05.30 start..),I decided to go direct from Heathrow to Central London, 18 stops each way on the underground..yuk!Then a 20 minute walk from Victoria Station. This was to buy a seconhand camera lens.Well it was worth every penny and the discomfort of the tube. These people are how every shopkeeper should be,courteous, polite,no hard sell..in fact you allmost feel obliged to buy and to cap it all,the lens is in fab condition, its over 25 years old and comes with 12 months warranty!!The shop really is the stuff of legends.....http://www.graysofwestminster.co.uk/ If only all retailers were like this.

I do wish they still made the old ‘push pull’ zoom lenses, everything is twist on my EOS 40D lenses.
I still have a Tamron 70-210 with adaptall mount for my old Canon AE1, much easier to use with the ‘push pull’ IMO.

I had a brand new 70/210 SP Tamron, cracking lens.....struck down by fungus, all being well the zoom Nikkor will be as good or even better.I still have a Tamron SP500 Mirror lens, used to use it with a 2x converter for Astro work. However, a couple of years ago I ordered( all hand made) and collected fro America(long story!) one of these fab scopes( that lens will cost over 4 figures over here!).The optics are STUNNING and I look forward to a good DSLR to couple to it....Simon knows where I am going with that one

Just got my latest NOC Magazine from Mr Levet of Grey's.

I dropped out of the club as I thought it was a bit expensive but the mags have some quality images. And good technical articles by Simon Stafford.
