remote not unlocking/locking doors

Gents - Happy Christmas,

My remote unlocking/locking has stopped working since I changed the battery in the remote. The key still happily starts the car and I can unlock/lock with the key in the door.

I left the battery out of the remote for a few days or so, and since then the remote will not unlock/lock the doors. (the red light is strong on the remote with the new battery)

The spare key still functions perfectly, so I suspect nothing on the car.

I've tried the re-sync (pressing unlock 4 or 5 times in quick succession after opening the door with the key) numerous times without any joy.

Desperate to get my remote key working again as with a couple of kids, it's a pain trying to juggle them and the key in the door!

I'm feeling it's a T4 job to re-introduce my key to the car!
