I've just been checking my undertray and the underside of the car prior to fitting next week. There appears to be 12 screw holes, the extra 2 I've highlighted below (pic from above post)
I've not been right underneath the car but there does appear to be corresponding fixing points on the chassis that also goes though the wheel arch trim, fixing both wheel arch and undertray to chassis. I always thought there were just 10 fixing points? In the photo you appear to have left these two unfixed? Ali.

Oh. Ok. One of the blanks on mine had fallen out, I just pushed the other out with a finger. Now have two nice screw holes. I will be using them as the chassis has a place for the spire nuts, and the more fixings the better IMO !

Fitted the undertray today, the extra two screw hole definitely line up with areas on the subframe that can hold spire clips. So I used a couple of extra spire clips & bolts. It holds the undertray tight against the subframe - I've seen many undertays hanging down and these two extra fitting points stop this happening, so I'd advise people to use these extra fixing points.

HI Ali.
Re-fitted an under tray for a friend today after sorting out his ABS OS sensor, and his hydro mount which was shot, I used the extra new fixing I have found, and have fitted them to all the fixing point areas cheers Arctic

My undertray started scraping along the ground so I removed it. Boy did i regret it !
The engine bay quickly became filthy and the power steering started leaking... I presume because the pipes were being blasted by road grit etc. |
