Giving it a go and have it on now on channel 236. First impressions are that the studio sets seem a little dark and poorly lit, very similar to those after-hours sofa type shows that have come and gone over the years. Not sure that it will survive on its current format alone, could be a bit boring for some after a while without some rolling/unfolding news and some documentary type of content.

Noticed today on its Wiki page that a correspondent from the Guardian is not impressed with it and gives it 1yr tops.

Yes the lighting could be better. However shining a light on alternative views was the upside for me. I bet the MSM will be laughing at some of the performances, but it’s a new channel so will undoubtedly be time to fine tune.

It's odd, a problem arises that confuses. I have a TV in more than 1 room, both on aerial Freeview with one through a Humax box (for recording).

The one on the Humax does not recognise 216 (so does not give that station), but the one without the box does. The one in the main room has my perfect armchair with convenient wine table, and the Humax. The other room, a kitchen stool. Is this a conspiracy?

Try doing a re-scan on the Humax box, it should hopefully pick it up .

Most people are not actually 'for' anything in particular. They are mainly against 'the other ones'. You know, the ones who are obviously hopelessly rampant about one side in particular and anti-everything. We are, after all, a moderate country. By and large anyway. The days of 'my dad voted for them' or 'they are all crooked' are slipping gradually away with the advancing years. As you might expect, maturity often brings a measure of enlightenment.

Andrew Neil and many of the presenters seem able and amiable to me so I wish the venture the best of success. It's very early days and it will likely get slicker and more polished as any teething problems are ironed out and the format evolves. Thought the piece it did last night about the origin of Covid - 19 was interesting, wasn't previously aware of the USA's involvement with the Wuhan lab which does I think leave a question mark over its integrity re any investigation. Will wait and see what US investigators report back with in the 90 days mentioned on the program but I'm thinking that the verdict could be a forgone conclusion if it were to put the USA in the frame of complicity.
