As above. On our cars the ECU does not play a role in alternator operation or battery charging. The alternator is a simple 2 or 3 pin device of the traditional type.

Question

A bit of a longshot, but crankshaft pulley slipping ?

Have you had the crankshaft pulley replaced yet ?

Have you checked that the alternator pulley is actually turning at a reasonable rate ?

Even slipping it would show some sort of charge.

Very odd.--Inside the three pin device two of the pins are joined together.---
