It will look like this next to the battery and fuse box.

You can't miss it.

Hope this helps.

Be careful trying to start a car with a dodgy battery, you can screw up the rolling code between the transponder chip in the key and the immobiliser.

Never needed it, really? So much better to go to a warm car on a cold day. Diesels are not the quickest engines to get warm.

As above post. Don't try and start the engine with a near flat battery.

Also, as it's a diesel, give the battery at least 24 hours charging before you attempt to start the engine again.

Also find out where the fan is and see if you can remove the fuse to it until you find the reason why it's running when it shouldn't be.

Stevestrat,
jumped the 75 from my other car which was ticking over, but the big bright dash lights didn't waver or dim,no reaction from the starter at all. You say that I might have screwed up the 'rolling road between the transponder chip in the key and the immobiliser,' I have zero knowledge of these chips, is it possible to 'reprogramme' them or must they be replaced, I vaguely remember a sequence of pedal pushes to do this, can you help??thanks

Always worth checking to see if your ECU has not taken a bath in the plenum chamber as diesels have an unsealed ECU prone to water damage - does the red oil pressure light come on when you try to start her ?
