Exactly!, only I would have condensed all that to just this, you have been talking to a moron!. ( notice I said talking to, not talking with, as the latter would imply a conversation in which both parties actually had a good idea as to what they were talking about!).

You can see, I hope that AI is fast replacing these morons, problem is what are we going to do with them?.

Bit of help for you then.--Lots of those treated timbers are dipped in arsenic, need I say more ??

PS. the advertising for that company says MORE information can be obtained at the depot.

I guess a diy'er at home is supposed to cut it themselves then..

Although I very much doubt the arsenic these days....

'All wood preserving products containing arsenic and chromium were banned from sale from 1 September 2006, following their review under the BPR review programme. CCA treated wood already in use is not affected.'

There is a massive difference between a DIY'er cutting a few pieces of treated timber using appropriate mask etc. at home, in the open, and cutting frequently for commercial purposes in a retail store environment.

CCA treated timber can still be dangerous when cut even when old.

Who knows what's in old timber taken in by private individuals to be cut ??

Diyers using a mask when cutting the odd piece of wood?
I take your point about it being done commercially. Sure I read somewhere that the fibres from the cutting of MDF is an issue.

I recognise that many do not, but they do not cut treated timber on a daily basis, so the poisonous load is infinitesimally smaller. Also, poisoning oneself does not generally lead to large claims for damages.

Anyone who even occasionally handles treated fence posts, as I do every year, will know the effects of handling treated timber without wearing gloves etc. Even a little splinter in a finger can turn quite nasty.

Irrespective of the above, if you or member Avulon can get a store to cut treated timber for you, I will be happy for you . I will also give my respect for the successfully exercised powers of persuasion.
