Cool

Morning everyone.

At last it has stopped raining. Banana needs a wash.

I have decided to postpone shopping until tomorrow.

Here is an uplifting story for anyone who is interested in the James Bond Lotus Esprit…https://www.cnbc.com/2019/12/01/coup...6-figures.html

Another watch fan? Me too as they say! Lots of ticks in my boxes (and tocks too!). I started by repairing lorry gearboxes and just kept going smaller! The trouble now is that my poor nearsight and shaky hands are getting a bit past it! (Like me!) Didn't stop me refitting the second hand on my Valjoux 7750 chrono last week though. Lots of breath holding and rests between each part of the job! Mike

Been looking online and can't for the life of me find the watch, can find similar ones but the faces are different
Sometimes, the "pop on/off" backs get a bit concave or convex which stops them catching hold around the edges. Also, you sometimes have to replace them perfectly flat, using a press tool. Tissot are a good make but when quartz came in, they had to compete with all the cheaper imports (as with most good quality brands). This led to a lowering of manufacturing complexity, hence the snap on backs as opposed to threaded ones, which often required a special tool to remove. If the back has gone a bit rounded, you can sometimes give them a press, or tap in the opposite direction to bring back the gripping edge. Some of the modern Tissots don't even get serviced, in the normal sense, these days but the movement is replaced entirely as it works out cheaper!!! Mike

I'm no closer to identifying the watch. A magnifying glass revealed the model number on the back but still can't find an image of one with the same dial. I posted about it on a Tissot watch forum, 111 views and no replies.

I'll worry about refixing the back when I get a battery for it.

Morning all.

Bright and sunny here. . A bit of a frost but nothing like the other day.

More wood cutting to do. There's something about a real fire which, unfortunately, means there's work to do to enjoy it.

And I couldn't possibly upset Quizzie bu not lighting it in the evening. After all, she need to dry out properly after her swim .
