Default Please Help

Went to start the car this morning and all I’m getting is a beep. Then tried to open the bonnet and the release does nothing.

At the end of my tether.

Don't keep trying to start it, if the battery is low you can end up knocking the key transponder and car immobiliser codes out of sync.

Bonnet opening info is available to subscribed members, as a non subscribed member your best bet is to PM a moderator.

Once you've opened the bonnet, disconnect the battery and give it a charge for 24 hours before attempting to restart the car.

Thanks, so the cause could just be a low battery? Just got to get at the thing now.

Where can I find a list of the Mods for someone to PM.

Thanks for the heads up guys, Pete sent me the instructions, will be giving it a go in the morning. Fingers crossed I can get in without having to do any damage.

I couldn’t believe it when I went to open the bonnet and it didn’t play ball, just what you need when the car won’t start

When you get it open Tom, grease the moving parts of the cable splitter box on the OSF inner wing. Remove the latch for cleaning in Gunk and re-lubricate. Check the two strikers for adjustment and grease as well.

And also do the cable box modification if it hasn't been done already, i.e. when you take the cover off, if you can see the cable barrels then remove them from the slider and turn the slider upside-down. Put the cover back on and cable-tie the whole assembly to the inner wing.

Managed to get one bonnet latch open so far, the other (drivers side) is proving more stubborn.

Have identified the original problem though, the line in from the cabin has come free of the splitter.

Tea break out of the rain, then I’ll go for round two.
