KV6 Belt change
Hello
I live near Stroud, Gloucestershire, and my 2.5 Tourer is due a 90k service and overdue a (second) belt change. My super-reliable local garage can do it but they don't really have the necessary kit to make it easy. Can anyone recommend someone reliable to do the service at a good price? Many thanks. |

I live in Gloucester....my ZT-T V6 belts were done by Dave Allkins at MG Rover Mobile Mechanics in Derby. http://www.mg-rovermobilemechanics.com/ They do mobile too but they're extremely popular so expect to wait for a couple of months for visiting their workshop or possibly longer for a home visit. That's who I would go back to for my belts - worth the trip!
Others I use for different work but also do belts are Chris Marshall in Burton Upon Trent (Marshall Performance Motors) and Tom Force in Leominster (Force Tuning). All are around £450 for V6 belts I believe. |

Unfortunately I cannot give you an endorsement but Wickwar is not very far from you and is home to ex-MG Rover dealer A.E. Wilcox & Son. I would expect them to have the service tools you are correctly seeking but a phone call will decide. Simon

Belt Change
Hi
Please give Leighton at Lates600 a call. He did mine and many other V6 belts, highly recommended! He works with Pete and they are very experienced at this and I have no hesitation recommending them to you. http://www.lates600.com/contact.htm or email [email protected] They are about 1 hour 45 minutes away from you and worth the trip. I hope this helps, Bob Walker |

Many thanks for all your helpful replies. I guess that lates600 in Coventry works best overall. Wilcox in Wickwar are more convenient but they seem to have moved on to other marques.
Thanks again. |

Lates
They did a really good job on my car, they really know what they are doing. The book says it is a minimum of 10 hours but they did it in less than 4! You need to bring a flask. sandwiches and a camping chair, so you can sit in their workshop while they do the job. The day I went the had just replaced the complete rear suspension and subframe and the V6 belts on a chap's car from the Isle of Wight by 1pm!
