Yesterday's 70 mile drive to look at a starlight silver TF ended up with me buying a pearlescent black one that I didn't go to look at!
Wasn't happy with the silver one, which was cheaper a bit more budget than this one as it had been a works runabout (the garage/dealer I went to specialises in TFs). So I looked at this instead! 65,000, very full history indeed with the book stamped annually without fail and a further folder of invoices. Very good underneath (dealer put it up on the lift for us). Some nice extras too: spoiler, hardtop, side scoops, clear rear lights, roll hoop, glass windstop, stainless sports exhaust (moderately loud, getting used to this still!), K&N filter, tonneau etc. Also a private plate. Last owner sadly passed away so the widow asked the dealer (who had sold it to them) to resell. I assume that's why the plate is staying on the car. Car has done very few miles since 2011 which is when the head gasket, belts, tensioner and water pump were done so I need to decide whether to trust the low miles or get them done again. Aside from that it doesn't seem to need anything. Still keeping the 75, but with my daughter now driving she nabs my wife's car, who then nabs the 75 so a 3rd set of wheels is handy. An incredibly reasonable £170 to insure 7500 miles p.a. on a classic policy (no NCB as used on the 75) with mods declared. Sent from my Redmi 5 Plus using Tapatalk

Hey Keith, Have you got a hardtop for your TF, you get the best of both worlds then.
I have the heritage hardtop for mine, its great to be able to change the look of the car, gives a whole new appearance with the HT. I find certain colours suit certain colour hardtops and soft tops, my hood is colour coded green to match the British racing green metallic paintwork. You see so many different colour combinations, also different colour interiors, some suit and some not so. The bonus of these roadsters is the fact you can have roof up, roof down or stick the hardtop on, so much fun. Here's mine. |

Very Nice!
I have an MGF to go with my ZT, but the colours clash so the MGF will be getting sold on. (Actually the wife says one MG is enough ) Mine has one of the rare Mike Satur alloy hardtops. I actually prefer the coupe feeling that gives.

Very nice, I reckon you should keep it, you will most probably regret selling it.

Not a great deal done today, spent most of the day with my feet up after going over on my ankle yesterday..........ow, just ow
On the plus side the half of the car I washed before crocking myself, looks quite a lot better than the one I didn't, and the rain washed off the seagull shat on the unwashed side, so it will have to suffice for now. Brian |

Pondered the downside of having more than one 75, along with a different daily driver.🤔
Looked at gold saloon- One I “saved” but currently off road, gathering petals in all orifices from overhanging hedge branches. Need to rod plenum, get sill welded, sort out battery drain.😢 Looked at “Croft’s” silver tourer. Not much to do other than clean the inside. 😀 A set of rear springs & dampers, although not required yet, would probably make it nicer to drive in the twisty corners.😞 Looked at silver saloon, also currently off road. Hasnt moved in months, as it’s a winter hack. Will need to remove & charge battery - fine...should have disconnected the battery when I parked it up.🙄 A replacement drivers seat with good bolster wouldn’t be a bad idea. Thoughts of a new clutch, slave and master cylinder are also looming, as all still original at 120k ish.😓 Drove marmite. Need to sort out exhaust resonance issue. 😞 Would also like to replace front springs and dampers, (currently a non-diesel set up) to something a bit more forgiving, and raised up a bit. Too much procrastination done for one day, so just took marmite out for a few local spins. 😄 Haven’t much time to do anything else at the moment, but a few decisions to be made in the future, methinks. 🙄 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
