Cool

Morning all.

We have overcast clouds and going to be like this all day it would appear. Suits me though as I can get more done without the heat draining me.

Good morning Andy, good morning Bob, good morning Ian, good morning all

Yesterday, the temp here was about right. Not too cold and not too warm. Here is a photo from a walk in the forest, at the bottom of a gorge. Behind Jessica (out of shot) is a waterfall and a stream, a lovely drinking spot for the dogs and the animals. Although the sound of running water makes me want to pee, it is relaxing and peaceful. Crabs, frogs and snakes can sometimes be seen in the stream and in the grass. I will be there after breakfast for some R&R.....the walk back up, makes me puff and pant, but it is really good for me.

What is everyone up to?

What a cutie and how kind of you Andy and Deb to keep the dog overnight. The dog looks young or it is not fully developed. A few nights ago, we had a couple of anthropologists round for supper. One of them is also a Professor of Archeology. They are visiting from the USA. We had an interesting conversation about dogs, dogs eyes and hormones. How over the years, dogs eyes have become larger. Its down to the hormone Oxytocin. When Oxytocin is released, it is calming, the opposite to Testosterone which can make the dog aggressive. I was just reading a closed thread and I concluded one or 2 of the posters needed to get a dog with big soppy eyes On second thoughts, maybe not - the one might kick the dog.

We had fish 'n'chips for lunch in Skegness, followed by a wander around the town and the seashore. To be honest, the town is very much about younger children, with amusements, rides and fast food outlets galore. Not a lot for us old fogies - but I was impressed by the fact that the local council manage to keep the town pretty tidy and clean. Got back to the caravan site just in time for the visit from the local ice-cream van, so we bought a litre carton - and have just demolished around half of that, spread over some local strawberries; an excellent 'pudding' to follow a couple of sausage sandwiches
You can take a 'long walk off a very short pier in Skeggy though'

Good morning Jeff, what are you up to today? Installing the a/c in Lady Emma? Out of interest, how much is Fish n Chips in your locality? I was shocked to hear in Whitby, its £20. Maybe I haven't lived, but £20 for Cod n chips, seems a tad high.

Morning Phil,

I’m up at the boat Mon/Tue. Got my Dad and Uncle coming out for a trip on the water followed by the Acle Bridge Inn for dinner.

Today I’m doing a few bits round the old place ready for the Estate Agents to come and take their photos.
Then it’s the cat rescue this afternoon

Home later to watch the recording of the F1 Austrian Grand Prix Qualifying and then time for a few cooling beers

Edit..... Oh, just under a tenner for fish & chips is about right for Clacton
