How to find original spec?
Hi, is there any way of using vin to determine the original factory build spec on the Rover 75? I have seen the info on the buying thread but would love to know exactly what my car had when new if at all possible.Thanks.

Not sure you would get all the details as some parts were dealer fitted.

That’s what I thought. But there was a factory options list I believe. So that would be a good place to start.

Together with above, you can get details of what version left the factory, by the VIN here.
Even better, if it is a Longbridge built car, you can PM Reebs your VIN who will have the full build data.

Does Reebs give any additional information compared to http://www.mg-rover.info/ ? I'd like to know as much as possible about my car, but the info site seems pretty comprehensive. I'm annoyed that I bought my car after you could find the previous owners... All I know is that it used to be in Liverpool for some time, and was originally around Bury St.Edmunds, apparently being used by the RBS bank.

Isn't the trim level listed on the plate on the pillar inside the n/s front door?

I've just tried to contact Reebs but his inbox is full - is there any other way of contacting him? I'd love to know more about my car.

I think it is, but my car has the Premium front bumper fitted, plus one or two other minor additions. I just wanted to know if it is possible to find if that was how it left the factory and also an idea of how much extra the first buyer would have paid.
