Hi Mike/Simon
You are correct I was referring to a three wire fan the blue & blue/red wire in the control box are in different places Paul the fan in the link on ebay looks to be a four wire three speed fan as you can not see the resistor in the photo.

I looked in the shed and I do have a V6 fan with gold resistor should you want to make the Nano meet this weekend coming if not then drop me a PM
