It's more like a hot chocolate night up here - still some late evening sunshine, but there's a definite chill in the air

That’s not good! It’s still sweltering here, I’m having to consume Greece’s supply of ouzo to cool down.

Morning folks - bright and sunny here too - but still cool. I was talking to the Steward at my Club and he said there were touches of frost when he took his dogs out at 6.30am.
The bad news is that a member of staff at my favourite pork pie/butchers shop in Great Ayton has tested positive for Covid-19. Not only does that close the shop down, but the infected one is also a member of our Club and has definitely been a visitor in the past few days (thank the Lord we put in a strong system for recording ALL visitors).
In view of the sunshine - I'd better go and get the lawnmower out I think

Morning Rod, Oh heck! does that mean you'll have to get a C-19 testing kit? I'm doing the same thing whilst the weather is nice, mowing lawns & trimming bushes

There is a glut of ripe tomatoes in the greenhouse so I've picked a bucket full this morning & they're on the stove being blanched now to shed their skins then it's tomato sauce making time for pasta meals.

We're currently waiting for advice from the Public Health people about what we should do. As it happens, I haven't yet plucked up the courage to visit the Club since we reopened, but
  • I have been in contact with a couple of other members
  • I'm due to be on the Club premises on Saturday to do a stocktake
What to do

Aye up - no-one in the house I hope you're not all out there taking part in an illegal rave
I wish I hadn't cut the front lawn today - the grass was much wetter than I thought, so I've now got a lawnmower plastered with wet grass and some clumps of mud - so there's a job for tomorrow
