I bought a 1996 800 in 2000 and ran it as my main daily until 2009 when I bought my 75 Tourer. Had 125,000 on the clock when I sold it and apart from normal consumables, it never gave any trouble. Next owner took it to Monte Carlo on a charity run, and it never missed a beat. The best bit was that on the front it was parked amongst the usual exotica and he still bothered to lock it!
