Traders give them a chance
I propose a solution to give the traders in the club a chance.
None traders are only allowed to post one item and one item only, per week. No duplicate items. Once the item as been sold, it should be posted as sold. To avoid confusion I’m sure the mods would enjoy policing that “Just a thought”. Let me know what you think? Alan

Sounds OK, and ALL sold items should be labelled sold. end of.
I also think that, where possible, all sorted car problem threads should be labelled "sorted" , as it's annoying to read a thread from the beginning, then come up with some possible solutions, only to find it has been resolved!! d'ohhh.. Though the latter point is really down to the original poster.. ... |

Is there not an apparent conflict of interest if a mod is also a trader – whether that trader status be made clear to the members or not? Actually, are all traders obliged to disclose their trader status to the members? I know...more questions.... But see, Hodgy is absolutely right to ask....

That is a fair idea put forward hodgy, although I would suggest it is restricted to two items per calendar month.

The traditional way of disclosing the trader status is via the colour of the username. I was asked about this a while back and decided that where a moderator was also a trader, then they should be use the moderator colours. Perhaps it would be a decent idea to state in the user profile where a person has a combination of status. |

A Conflict of interest will would come about if a Moderator starts selling a large number of items without taking out traders subs. Clearly that would their position untenable. |

That would be good yes.
The conflict of interest arises in the sort of situation described by Hodgy whereby he gets an email from one mod regarding his own activities, now if that mod happens to also be a trader and the pair of them both have, say walnut dashes to sell then a possibly unfortunate impression gets created. |

Perhaps one of the mods might want to comment on this thread. Alan
