Time heals and would echo the advice to follow the physio"terrorist's" instructions. I hobbled about for months after an injury, to be told by a physio to "Throw that dam*ed stick away!" Within two days, I was walking much better and without the bachache that walking tilted, using the stick had caused! Speedy recovery to you. The human body is a wonderful thing.

Hi Glenn. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Not very nice injuries.I did a similar thing, back in the 70s. I had mine happen while mowing grass. The Mountfield mower picked up a stone and it hit my left leg right in the middle of the tibia, and then I tried to walk on it and snapped my fibula. Took eleven months before I could go back to work. I can tell you that you must do everything that the physiology Doctor tells you with regards to getting movement back in you knee and ankle.
Anyway you just look after yourself, and just keep thinking about what to do after you are mobile again. Good luck and commiserations. Get well soon.

Set back after set back; keep smiling and working hard on the rehab. through the winter - and on the upside, the Rover's odo is at a standstill.

Thank you all for your thoughts. Yes, life is on hold, but not over. It is just so frustrating - and painful. I also realize I must do the best I can with the physiotherapist (physioterrorist hadn't heard that before). Right now I can say the ankle range of motion is the biggest problem. The rest is mostly strengthening. The whole thing really sucks.

And yes, the car is waiting patiently.

Cheers,
Glenn

Yes, that it does. I'm a "glass half full" sort, but my wife is the "glass half empty" type. We usually keep a balance, but this is hard on her.

Hmmm, planenut from LHR. I retired from 37 years in aviation (all on the ground), so I am pretty familiar with challenges.

Cheers,
Glenn

I hope you make a good recovery. Motorcycling is so dangerous when you are at the mercy of so many others.

Having you life on hold again must be hard.

good luck

Macafee2, you understand. I am really sorry for your son's accident. I hope he has an easier time of it than I am. I've been riding for 40 years and this is my first incident of any kind. I just can't believe it.

Regards,
Glenn

I know you'll be sick of hearing this but do what the physiotherapists tell you. It'll make a big difference to how well you can walk about in the future.

Other stuff will have to wait but so be it.

Good luck for a speedy, full recovery.

Andy.
Thanks Andy. The one flicker of light is that I wasn't on my Triumph Trophy. We've been through so many trips together, I'd hate to lose her.

Cheers,
Glenn

Thank you. I can't wait to progress to a stick!

Thanks David. Wow, that was a freak thing that happened to you. I sure hope my 4 month estimate doesn't grow longer. I am thinking about what to do, alright. Move to Europe before something else goes wrong! I will have to spend the winter rebuilding the bike, too.

Cheers,
Glenn
