Lightbulb Spanish Club Members Forum Dual language

Hi, 75´s or Mg´s living in Spain

I just decide to create this thread to all of you living in Spain for some reasons:

First of all, we share the same love for our vehicles and after all these years I have to realize that there's no section where we can help each other breaking the language barrier. Questions and answers in both languages..!!!

I´m for sure that we have a lot of spare parts that sometimes are hard to find and they are just hanging around on our storage area. Let´s see what we need and who have it locally.

Special tools for share nearby. Some of us are weekend mechanics.

Get together for a beer and tapa´s, why not.

So, let´s see what we have or need from each other just to have our British cars running as new.

Kind regards

Joel Antonio

Default Hola!

We have travelled around Spain fairly often over the past 5 years (motorhome, not the Rover 75) and see the occasional 75 or MG.
I've noticed a few where the paint has been damaged by what must be the strong sunshine. Usually the darker colours. A problem we don't have as much in the UK!

Blackrose .... Having stayed at Camping El Jardin a few times (just north of Alicante, just south of El Campello) I should pop into the scrapyard you mention for a quick look!
Regards
John

Saludos
Juan

Thumbs up

Hi John:

Please to hear about you running around into our "backyard".

Yes, sunshine kills darker colors on our Rover´s, but I might say that there few reasons why for example, some owners have to left their car on the street because they don´t have a garage, also no paint care ej. regular wash & polish.

That´s on one side, others including my self have the benefit of a garage and like to have our babies in top-notch condition including the paint.

About scrap yards, there are several around Spain, but not all they have Rover 75´s. There´s one in Madrid the biggest in Spain, where you can find almost every bit that you´re looking for, but it´s very expensive, I rather buy it new from UK known suppliers.

Cheers...!!!!

Grout, I think it's gone to the crusher. I'll check in 3 weeks when I'm back.

Saludos cordiales Joel Antonio.

Hello Cantabrian:

I am selling one with the manual gearbox . More than anything because I'm going to buy another one that is automatic too . All I have are second-hand, I didn't have the opportunity to buy a new one ... I was late for the party (2007). Of course they are going great, the little things that come out I fix them myself, I like the mechanics of the weekend.

Best regards Joel Antonio.
