Hi all,

A bit of an update ref overfueling and my black smoke issue.

I had the ECU read again last Saturday by Jamie ( many thanks ) who has confirmed that the replacement injector is doing it's job, and that number 3 injector which was over fueling, has now come back into parameters as it was over fueling to compensate number 2 being poor.
But, injector number 4 seems now to be having a hissy fit for some reason.

So, Jamie very kindly did a live data reading and measured all sort of things while we took it for a bit of a drive.
The car actually drives great, no complaints on that side of things.
He confirmed that boost pressure is spot on and I'm not loosing any anywhere.
It doesn't smoke as bad as it did, but it does have some being reved from tickover initially.
I don't have any plans at the moment to change number 4 injector as it is boarder line. If I have a drop off in fuel economy which prompted this I'll be changing it of course.

So, I've gone from mid 30's to the gallon back up to mid 40's to the gallon!
Result!

Many thanks for all the pic's and how too's and advice from everyone!

I have another new set of intercooler seals that I can put in a safe place and loose again!
I'm not changing them at the moment as Jamie has proven on his diagnostic that the car isn't loosing boost pressure.
If it's not broke don'd fix it!!

Really hope to see people at the next meet! Many thanks again to all!

Hi Richard.
Drop a bottle of this in your tank and see how it goes over the next few weeks, it may help injector number 4 which is having a hissy fit.

Thanks Steve,

I'm one step ahead on that one, I've put something cal Diesel Detox in the tank, it claims to do everything ( as they all do ) apart from rebuild your engine and injectors from the ground up!

I will say this though, the car does seem more responsive, it has a cetane booster in it, it's definitely doing / done something.

I'll post a pic of the bottle when I get a few mins, I always struggle to put pics up as it seems to be very time consuming.

Anyway.

Thanks again for your pics and how-to's ! As always, very good photo's and instructions.
