As i said "I have no idea if this is a silly high figure or not"
I am sure I should know better but I cant think straight. It does not help but some of the appliances we will need have not been purchased and I cant find out their starting current. I think I have quoted worst case scenario... everything running. 62.5 amps seem low. 21 or 27 amps are just in case but that still leaves 170 to account for. I read somewhere that RCD's or MCB's can account for start up current so wont trip on start up. I wish I knew what my main RCD was in my previous place, probably 100. Anyway, if the network operator can tell me I can go from there. An added note, apparently the property has 3 phase macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 12th April 2021 at 21:17.. |

And so far nobody has mentioned "diversity factor", so I will.
For example. just because your cooker hob has 4 rings it does not mean they are all on at the same time, each has a temperature control of some sort etc. I have a large house, a large well equiped workshop, 2 distribution boards and in all 5 ring mains and 3 main spurs, have not managed to blow the supplier's fuse (yet) |

See post 27. That is not a problem. Just look at your continuous load. The inrush current is only milliseconds and if you had a 50 amp fuse it would not blow/trip it. In fact you are protecting the freezer with a 13 amp fuse. You need to worry about the important things in life. Last edited by another_clean_sheet; 13th April 2021 at 12:02.. Reason: Addition |

You are looking into this subject too much and it's obviously bothering you.
