It would be worth checking the off side to make sure the piston and caliper moved freely. Remember you will have added fresh grease on the near side, so it could theoretically move quicker and more.easily, and give.that grabbing effect.

It is always a good idea to do anything with brakes as axle sets, as the risk of what you are experiencing. It is not always needed or done, but it will maintain balance.

It may be worth hunt out that other caliper to refurbish.then you could just swap it out without the struggle you had previously.

But it's your money (and time).

Simon, it is also piece of mind. I have a problem now perhaps because I tried to cut corners. I did not think I needed to bleed all the slaves but perhaps I should have done. I dont know what the problem is and I could do this and it not work then I do that and it does not work. Do it all and hopefully a stich in time....
Whist I think the offside is ok I understand that perhaps it could be sluggish and is only showing up now.

I'm retired, I have no home of my own and no job.
Hopefully I (we) will have "my" own home by end of June and that, will be a full time job. If we get the place we are looking at, I don't know if to do the garage first or the house first. Which ever is first I dont think we will be able to spend Christmas in it.

Just finished the ZS front brakes, bled them both and pedal is fine, haven't touched the rear brakes, or bled them. Think we did the same: clamped the hose(s), to reduce fluid loss. I'll move onto the rear brakes at some time as they need overhauling, just like your other caliper

Keep well
