Morning John, thank you for putting it into perspective, 2 inches doesn’t seem much. I am waiting until I have had a 2nd vaccination before I go to the dentist or into hospital. I would rather have the op in the UK, than in Kenya or in South Africa, but at the moment Kenya has banned all flights to and from the UK until the UK removes Kenya from the red list.

Now for something more cheerful

Yesterday I bought triple ply toilet paper for the first time.
Does this mean I get to use 2 squares instead of 4? Can you do the sums?

Morning Jeff, thank you for those thoughts and good wishes. It all depends on the size of the aneurysm. Both private and NHS use the same standards of care, but in the UK there is a regional variation on when to operate. In one region it’s 5.5cm and in another it’s 6.5 cm.

The repair is major, because of that and because of Covid the surgeons are delaying the surgery for as long as possible. I try not to think about it too often. I had to give up contact sports, no sky diving and no scuba, I had to give up going down

We are looking forward to having a break and getting away on safari. Mount Kilimanjaro is famous for the views and large elephant herds. It will make a nice change to see something different.
