I have removed the S reg Rover 75 from my details as I have transferred it over to an enthusiast in the club who is going to look after it and bring it up to car show standard. 2 years ago the engine was replaced with a low mileage engine at a cost of £1200. The latest repairs will come to £1000 approximately to get the car through the MOT. So I decided to call it a day and save the car from rotting away. It is going to a good home within the club

Morning Phil, Must have been hard to let your pride & joy go but I think you've done the right thing if you're not using it regular.
I've no idea what I'm going to do with mine as I cant afford to put it back on the road with having the MGZS ev now

Bowel cancer screening kit time has come around yet again, just done it in time to catch the last collection at the post office at the end of the street, Soaking wet through

Cloudy and decidedly cool here, according to the Met Office temp won't even hit double figures today, rain later as well.

Oh that's not good. Just reading rail services all over the country have been thrown into chaos after cracks were found in the suspension systems of Hitachi 800 high speed trains, all have been withdrawn from service pending investigation. They're used by several companies around the UK, LNER, GWR and Hull Trains are advising people not to travel, Trans Pennine are advising people not to travel on certain routes as they have withdrawn their Nova1 units which use the same suspension system.

Lot to be said for a loco with a rake of coaches.

What a welcome to the North East

Heaving it down and 5 degrees. The FBH came on this morning as I ran my son to work. .

It's supposed to be improving - hope they're right.

Blimey! what a mess that will cause throughout the country Break out the class 90

A big change for you both but I’m sure it will work out better for your Mums well being. Also for you to feel better knowing that she is safe and being looked after.
indeed so Jeff her safety and welfare is my priority.

Richard, its not ideal your mum going into care, but it does relieve your concerns about your mum being discharged home. If you have any photographs of yourself and the family, framed photos will be a bonus for your mum's room. As you know, the Covid restrictions at the home, is something you will have to work with. I think it is reassuring they are in place guarding your mum's safety and health.

Positive thoughts.
i know that Phil and as its only 5 mins down the road , we will be able go see her more often once restrictions ease.

What will you use when you come to the UK Phil? Will you hire a car?

Hi Ian and thank you.

The car was kept at a UK private storage facility for over a year and I cannot see myself returning to the UK this year or until Kenya has been removed from the red list. I have pumped thousands of pounds into the car over the 11 years I had it. I am realistic that sort of expenditure can go to someone else.

Storage, road tax, insurance is over 1K before it goes anywhere, something you are having to deal with in owning more than one car. I was a bit sad yesterday, as the car was very comfortable and being a press car it is fully loaded with lots of heritage, but at least it’s not being broken for parts, it will be saved.

You returned the bowel cancer screening test, hopefully it’s normal and you will be given the all clear.

The guy who now has the my old 75, has said I can use one his other cars when I am next in the UK, the only thing I will pay for is insurance.

Getting back to your mum Richard, how do you feel about her discharge plans?
