Default Reversing sensors fitted

After owning a 2.5 connie with reversing sensors for over 8 yrs...when we changed it for the CDT Tourer, we missed the sensors...
so i bought a set on fleabay..complete colour coded etc for just £14.99..
a little sceptic at first, but when they arrived, i was really pleased with the colour match..i chose maroon for my coperleaf tourer...
fitting was easy...everything is supplied..the drill bit..wiring..buzzer and control box..it took about an hr to do and ...well all i can say is..they work superb..
the only difference ive noticed with them from the original connie ones is that, if you select reverse and there is nothing behind you for at least 4 feet away, they only beep once to let you know they are working....but as soon as you get within distance...aprox 3 feet away, they start to work..then continuous beep around 18" away from any object..and they work excellent, even with the towbar fitted..no false reading etc.
so i can really recommend them..if anyone was thinking of fitting them..

You can use the same kit, but you would have to have them on a switch so you turn them on when you require

Hi

I also have a copperleaf tourer without rear sensors and would like to fit them to mine.

Can you provide a link to the ones that you bought please. Also did you remove the bumper to fit them? Any other tips would be appreciated.

Here,s the link..http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3706612242...#ht_4073wt_810

i chose the maroon ones and they are a very close match

yes, you.ll have to remove the bumper, which is a very easy straightforward job...i put the wires up through into the the rear of the o/s rearlight unit (take care when removing the rear light unit, there are 2 lugs on the left with screws in,,,these lugs can break) wired the + & - to the reversing light wires.
i then removed the plastics on the o/s inside..( 3 screws)..i placed the unit inside there and the buzzer has a sticky back which i stuck inside the body...put the plastic back and everything is out of sight...if you want pics...i,ll post some...not a problem

I had a set fitted to front after a slight car park mishap.
Had a switch fitted, but sometimes leave them on while driving, no noise until about 3 feet from obstruction.
You can also get them switched on by signal from computer at 6mph.
