From Friday May 13 until Monday May 16, 2016 the Club Seventyfive organizes for her members as well as her users a meeting in South Limburg, in the south of the Netherlands near to the border triangle of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

Central location will be Rolduc in Kerkrade, a former abbey, where the history goes back to the year 1100. Rolduc was the largest abbey in the Benelux.

Program:

Friday May 13, 2016:
Arrival at ± 16.00 pm in Rolduc.



Dinner together (buffet) in the nice and charming restaurant; followed by the annual membership meeting. Only for members; users from www.r75.info can already enjoy a drink in the bar.
Open End of the evening.


Saturday May 14, 2016:
After breakfast we will head to the fortress of Eben Emael (± 26 miles), just across the border in Belgium.

This place became really famous through history on May 10, 1940 when a small team of German paratroops took over the control of the fortresss artillery in less than 15 minutes.
We are expected at 10.00 am for a detailed tour of 2 hours 30 min.


After this tour we drive back to the Netherlands; just across the border at Kanne (Belgium) you’ll find on the Dutch side Château Neercanne.

On this beautiful location overlooking the Jekervalley we can enjoy an extended lunch (buffet).
We are expected here at 13.00 – 13.15 pm. The lunch will be in the “Carrière Poswick”, in the caves opposite the castle.
They serve: warm cave mushrooms, sandwiches with meat, cheese and salmon, the famous “Limburg” pie and coffee, tea, water and glass of house wine. (Please understand that other drinks are for your own account).


No later than 15:30 pm we go to the “Jezuïtenberg” (Jesuit Caves), about 400 meters further.

At 16.00 begins a tour through one of the worlds best provided preserved marlstone quarries.

Sunday May 15, 2016:
Todays program includes a visit to the Open-air Museum in Bokrijk in Belgium.

Distance Rolduc – Bokrijk: ± 37 miles; mainly motorway. We are expected at 10.00 am.
The Bokrijk Open Air Museum was officially opened on April 12, 1958.
± 140 authentic buildings form the core of the heritage collection. In addition to these buildings, the collection also consists of tools and everyday objects; it all shows the daily life of the 17th century until 1950. There is also a separate section for only the Sixties.



The museum is characterized by its interactive and dynamic approach. There is for example a candy store where they make handmade sweets according to old recipes. And there are extensive catering facilities where you can taste traditional dishes.
For us there is a special reserved parking: Parking 1 - Castle 1; at the back.

At the beginning of the afternoon, a treasure rally leads you through the beautiful countryside of South Limburg back to Rolduc. En route there are a number of questions to be solved. Please note; it's not about speed; there's plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful places along the way and stop whenever you want to.
In the evening dinner (buffet) together in Rolduc, award ceremony tresure rally and Open End.


Monday May 16, 2016:
After breakfast we have a guided tour through the impressive and historical Rolduc.
In the former abbey you can admire among others a beautiful library with ancient books.



After lunch, goodbye to the participants; everybody has still time to return home.

There are two types of double rooms available; EUR 85,00 per night (EUR 60,00 when used by one person) and EUR 80,00 (EUR 55,00 when used by one person). Both room types have a seperate bathroom with a shower or bath and lavatory; difference is, that the more expensive room is a bit modernized. Of course TV as well as free Wifi are available.
There are 37 rooms booked for us now.
Prices include breakfast but exclude city tax of EUR 1,50 per person per night.
Dinner (3x buffet each 3 courses) Friday, Saturday and Sunday will take place in a special reserved section of the Abbey;
costs: EUR 25,00 per person per night, excluding drinks.

Programm:

Freitag den 13. Mai 2016:
Anreise der Teilnehmer um ± 16.00 Uhr in Rolduc.



Abendessen in der Form eines Buffets im gemütlichen Restaurant; gefolgt von der Hauptversammlung. Diese ist nur für Mitglieder gedacht; die User von www.r75.info können bereits an der Bar einen Drink genießen.
Open End des Abends.


Samstag den 14. Mai 2016:
Nach dem Frühstück fahren wir zum Fort Eben Emael (± 42 Km), gerade über die Grenze in Belgien.

Das Fort Eben-Emael wurde zum Beginn des Zweiten Weltkrieges am 10. Mai 1940 bekannt, als ein kleines Team von deutschen Fallschirmjäger die Artillerie des Fortes in weniger als 15 Minuten unter Kontrolle hat. Wir werden hier um 10.00 Uhr für eine ausführliche Tour von 2 Stunden 30 Minuten erwartet.


Anschließend fahren wir in die Niederlande zurück; gerade über die Grenze beim belgischen Kanne liegt Château Neercanne.

An diesem wunderschönen Ort mit Aussicht über das Jekertal wird uns ein Buffet angeboten. Wir werden hier um ± 13.00 – 13.15 Uhr erwartet. Das Buffet wird in der “Carrière Poswick”, in den Grottensälen gegenüber dem Schloß stattfinden.
Auf der Speisekarte stehen: warme Höhlenpilze, Sandwiches mit Fleisch, Käse und Lachs, den berühmten Limburg-Kuchen, Kaffee, Tee, Wasser und ein Glas Hauswein. (Weitere Getränke sind auf eigene Rechnung).


Spätestens um 15.30 Uhr gehen wir zum Jesuitenberg, etwa 400 Meter weiter.



Um 16.00 Uhr fängt eine Führung durch den vielleicht schönsten und best bewahrten Mergelsteinbrüchen der Welt mit wunderschönen Wandbildern an.

Sonntag den 15. Mai 2016:
Wir besuchen das Freilichtmuseum in Bokrijk in Belgien.

Distanz Rolduc – Bokrijk: ± 59 km; größtenteils Autobahn. Wir werden gegen 10.00 Uhr erwartet.
Das Freilichtmuseum Bokrijk wurde offiziell am 12. April 1958 eröffnet. Etwa 140 authentische Gebäude bilden den Kern der heimatkundliche Sammlung. Desweiteren besteht die Kollektion aus Werkzeuge und Gebrauchsgegenstände; das Ganze zeigt den Alltag des 17. Jahrhunderts bis 1950.
Außerdem gibt es einen separaten Teil wo nur die Sixties zental stehen.



Das Museum hat einen sehr interaktiven und dynamischen Ansatz. So gibt es z.B. ein Süßwarengeschäft wo man von Hand hergestellte Süßwaren nach altem Rezept macht. Weiterhin gibt es viele Gaststättenbetriebe wo man auch herkömmliche Gerichte probieren kann.

Für uns gibt es einen reservierten Parkplatz: Parking 1 – Schloß 1; hinten.


Zu Beginn des Nachmittags führt eine touristische Route Euch durch die schöne Landschaft von Süd-Limburg nach Rolduc zurück. Es wird eine Art Orientierungsfahrt; unterwegs sollen ein paar Aufgaben gelöst werden. Es geht nicht um Geschwindigkeit; es gibt genügend Zeit, sich die schöne Landschaft und Örtchen entlang des Weges zu genießen und zu stoppen, wann immer ihr wollt.

Das Abendbuffet wieder in Rolduc, Preisverleihung der Orientierungsfahrt und Open End.


Montag den 16. Mai:
Nach dem Frühstück gibt es eine Führung durch das historische Rolduc selber.
In der ehemaligen Abtei ist unter anderem eine prachtvolle Bibliothek mit jahrhundertealten Büchern zu sehen.



Nach dem Mittagessen Abschied der Teilnehmer; alle haben noch die Gelegenheit nach Hause zu fahren.

Das Buffet (jeweils drei Gänge) wird Freitag-, Samstag- und Sonntagabend in dem spezial für uns reservierten Teil stattfinden;

we where planning to maybe goto France with the local mg club but have pulled out as a bit pricey ,, only just seen this so for now looking into whether this is a option . it would be nice to see the club 75 lot again .( I missed them at POL due to my dad having a big car smash the day before . ) and over in euro land
