Default I got a warning triangle for £2

Looking for a jack to borrow at the scrap yard today I came across a warning Triangle in the back of a BMW. Took a liking to it so got it for........ £2.
It's Gebra the same one shown in this post
https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...light=triangle

I'd like to keep it in its plastic sleeved box. Box is same as the one in the above thread except Blue and not with name Rover or the Rover part number but any ideas how to fix it to the underside of the boot lid?
I'm not sure but does it normally fit to the boot lid without the plastic sleeve? It's fairly heavy at 895 grams.

Think its only the estate that uses the triangle in the plastic box.

The saloon one fits into brackets that are fixed to the underside of the boot lid.

Given the safety value of these i can't think why the government doesn't simply provide them free, via MOT stations, at the time of an MOT.

In bulk and even with the overheads of distribution and possible abuse (but hardly something of 'value') the unit costs should be around £1 and would be covered by the MOT fee.

Within a year or two pretty much every vehicle on the road would have one.

Exclamation Triangular

I think it's been a long time since any of you worried about an warning triangle for a tourer, perhaps, but having noticed mine was missing I've been on a quest to find one - and I'm gonna tell you whether you care or not! Forgive me if this is old news.

I wanted a blue case version 'cos that's what was in a photo on this site. (But red cases are out there too, apparently.) As any fule nose, the originals - (part number KCC100110) - are now unavailable, but I cheered up when I found a post in German somewhere (here?) which gave a BMW part number.

Having pursued this, I eventually found a part number superceding that one, which is BMW 1095457. The triangle is original equipment for a 5 series E61 M Sport, among many other cars.

I found a NOS one on the 'Bay for £5 - and voila, it fits. Chuffed. Many more out there, and if you turn the branded BMW side to the back, (or not?) it looks pretty adjacent to original spec, I think.

You knew already? OK!

Thanks, Always nice when someone posts a new part number and can be found on ebay
