Default Diesel - a few random questions

Hello all.

I've been a member on here for the best part of 12 years, and bought my first ZT 190 early 2007. I have always had V6's, but have recently purchased a diesel, and have a couple of random questions please.

There is water on the drivers side which I need to dry out, however I have noticed what looks to be a black screw cap just below the throttle pedal in the carpet. It is holding the carpet to the floor. What is this please?

I was also replacing the drop links and front brake pads yesterday, and noticed the FBH starts up on it's own a couple of times. Is this normal???

Thanks in advance.

Ben.

No ignition. Just seemed to start up, then turn off after a few seconds.

Hi,when I first got my diesel I kept getting a flat battery while it was parked up in my garage, then when I was in there one day i heard the heater trying to fire up,thankfully it just went through the fire up process and not completed the ignition,I then noticed it over several days it kept doing it,so I just removed the fuse for it,never needed it any way also it is obviously faulty as not working, probably needs a new circuit board. So you may have a faulty board.Regards Ry....

Thanks both for the replies.

OK, so I was running out of broken things to fix / replace anyway.

Is there anyone on the forum or elsewhere that refurbishes these please?

Worth having a look here

If you PM Trebor I am sure he could point you in the right direction to get yours refurbished.

A throttle stop to prevent over run of the pedal as it's electronic not mechanical as on the petrol models. Do'h.

Thanks to the member that advised me.

If I remember correctly, you can cut one wire that is fixed to the fbh that goes to the kbus?. If Trebor or Devilish see this post they will advise you. My fbh sometimes starts running but does not fire up when i open the drivers door, but stops in a couple of seconds.
